Exhibition "À la surface" (Under the Surface)

Exposition « À la surface »

The site-specific exhibition "À la surface" celebrates the relationship
between man and his environment.

Exploring the symbiosis between earth, minerals and plants, this artistic event reveals the richness of the rural winegrowing landscape. From the vines to the mineral components of the soil, every particle contributes to a living landscape.

The artists invite us on a sensory journey where rock, roots and dregs weave the story of this land shaped by man and time. By transcending the boundaries between nature and artifice, the exhibition makes a subtle transfer of materials from the environment to the exhibition space. Elements of the land, harvested and placed on the surface for visitors to see, create a harmonious dialogue between winegrowing heritage and contemporary creation.

 The artists

Melissande Herdier

As she wanders, Mélissande Herdier captures snippets of natural environments through photography, drawing, video and the collection of objects, mainly minerals. In this way, the artist collects subjects for study, multiplying her observations and inviting us to immerse ourselves in the material. These documentary extracts are interwoven with tales of exploration and science-fiction ramblings. As if in a state of reverie, the idea of a cosmology of elements takes shape, driven by the desire to understand the links between things.

Marilou Turmeau

A visual artist and screen printer, she is dedicated to exploring the spontaneous evolution of printing techniques such as monotype and screen printing. She creates original, ephemeral matrices using everyday objects or drawing inspiration from specific scientific fields such as cartography and topography. By developing printing processes that produce unique works while remaining part of a serial approach, she evokes the impermanence of things and the perpetual cycle of renewal.
